CBSE BOARD
In response to the representation made by the Government of United Provinces, the then Government of India(1921) suggested to set up a joint Board in 1929 for all the areas which was named as the Board of High School and Intermediate Education, RajputanaThis included Ajmer, Merwara, Central India and Gwalior.The Board witnessed rapid growth and expansion at the level of Secondary education resulting in improved quality and standard of education in institutions.But with the advent of State Universities and State Boards in various parts of the country the jurisdiction of the Board was confined only to Ajmer, Bhopal and Vindhya Pradesh later.As a result of this, in 1952 , the constitution of the Board was amended wherein its jurisdiction was extended to part-C and Part-D territories and the Board was given its present name-Central Board Of Secondary Education (CBSE) Before you enroll for CBSE home tuitions in Mumbai, let us quickly have a look at CBSE subject pattern
SUBJECTS AND COURSE STRUCTURE
The course structure of CBSE board is a bit comprehensive and all encompassing. Most of the subjects given below are compulsory but the addition of a foreign language is optional, however, it is considered as an asset. The following subjects are listed under the course structure of CBSE.
English :
To develop and integrate the use of the four language skills i.e. listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
Mathematics :
To acquire knowledge about terms, symbols, concepts, processes proofs etc. of Mathematics.
Physics :
To acquire knowledge and understanding of the terms facts concepts, definition, laws and principles and processes of physics.
Biology :
To develop an understanding of the interrelationship between sustainability and environmental adaptations.
Geography :
To develop an understanding of the terms, concepts and principles related to Geography.
Commercial Applications :
To develop in students a perspective, and analytical ability to balance the demands of social business parameters with individual responses.
Art :
The aim of this course is to enhance the imaginative abilities of a child. The papers conducted are mainly on drawing and painting from still life, nature and portraits etc.
Yoga :
To instil the faith in healing technologies like yoga, in order to develop practices that may help them develop their sense of well being.
Cookery :
this is an optional subject for those children who are interested in cooking.
Modern Foreign Language :
Courses will be set in French. Spanish, German as well as other Modern Foreign Languages.Fashion Designing: to enhance knowledge about fabrics and designs.
BiPhysical Education:
To enhance knowledge about the various efficient factors about Physical Fitness.
Classical Language :
papers will be set in Sanskrit and other classical Languages on request.
Computer Science :
To enable understanding of the candidates the concepts and practices of Computer Science.
Commercial Studies :
To enable students to develop a perspective, sensitive and critical response to the role of business in a global national and local context.
Agriculture Science :
To promote and appreciation and interest in agriculture as an applied science.
Economic Applications:
To familiarize students with the basic concepts of economics and economic phenomenon and to develop their analytical skills.
Computer Applications :
To help build their own applications and to empower the students to familiarize themselves with the effective tools of the computers.
Environmental Science:
This subject deals with the interdependence of living things within their environment and provides an insight into the interplay of factors of the environment.
Performing arts :
To develop an appreciation for enjoyment of music and drama in its historical contexts.
